Memorial Day Weekend and Daddy's Birthday!

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Hobart for their annual freedom celebration weekend. We had family and cousins there from St. Louis, Illnois, New Jersey and Texas. It was so much fun to get all the little ones together! They have a lot of small town activities...breakfast at the airport, parade, arts festival, bounce houses, community worship.

Waiting for the parade, candy bags in hand

Uncle Matt getting Kate to sleep during the community worship...YES!

May craziness!

May began with a wonderful celebration of Abby's first holy communion. It was so awesome to see her experience something so very important and something she has learned about and looked forward to for a very long time. We are so proud!

At Kate's 15 month appointment she was 20.14 lbs (20%), 32 1/4 inches long (90%)

We spent May preparing the new house by painting, putting down new carpet and tile, cleaning and anything else you can think of to get a house ready. We also sold lots of baby stuff on Craigslist, sorted and packed. It was a very tiring month!
My parents came to help pack and prepare the new house and they brought their dog and his crate...which someone LOVED! This same weekend...3 of the 4 of us has some sort of virus or food poisoning. Such fun!
She's showing her girly side... insisted on wearing that bracelet!
Kate is starting to be able to sit through a book, although it's lively!
My packing sabotager...it was VERY challenging to pack with a walking 15 month old on the scene.
 Spaghetti, blueberries...and then a BATH!
Cousins watching a movie while we worked on prepping the new house...

We literally moved on Grant's last day of school, May 18. We were unpacked and ready to take a trip to Hobart for Memorial day weekend a week later! I'm always a crazy unpacker, complete with pictures hung on the wall...within a few days. We are hoping we can stay put for a few years and until Dr. Robo finishes his fellowship and we begin the next adventure.

May also brings the celebration of our anniversary. We celebrated 7 years and I honestly can't remember what we did...but I am pretty sure it involved unpacking, which is very appropriate! We have moved 6 times in the past 7 years, two of which were cross country.

This house felt more like "home" for us in one week than the last one did in 11 months! Here are a few pics from that first week...

Enjoying her first chocolate beater (eggless cake)

 Learning to use a spoon
 Sweet kiddos (and Texas hair)
 Her new favorite hiding spot
Playing in the new backyard!!!
 Yay sprinklers!

And water tables!
And dancing in the rain!!!

April Happenings

The rest of April brought pigtails, science with daddy and more exploring. Kate learned to get into the pantry and by the end of the month (the 26th) she became a walker! This was our last month of watching and playing with Eva and we began sorting and preparing for a move (just 10 minutes north, but still tons of work!).
